Webinar: The Quality of Measurement Uncertainty
The third webinar organized by METROFOOD-IT is scheduled for Thursday, February 1st (and no longer on January 31st as originally planned), starting at 11:00 AM on the WEBEX platform. The event, titled "The Quality of Measurement Uncertainty," will be conducted by Professor Leopoldo Angrisani from the University of Naples Federico. The presentation will focus on the concepts of measurement and quality, with a particular emphasis on the topic of measurement uncertainty and its importance in various scientific disciplines.
Measurements, which are operations that realize the operational definition of a physical quantity, result in a numerical value, the "measurement." However, any measurement is always affected by uncertainty, which, according to the UNI ISO 3534-1/2000 standard, is the estimate associated with a test result characterizing the range of values within which the true value of the measured quantity is supposed to fall; uncertainty has the dimensions of a standard deviation and is indicated by the letter "u."
The appointment (in Italian) will have a total duration of one hour, with registrations possible until the morning of Wednesday, January 31st, through this page. Participants will have the opportunity to interact in real-time with the speaker, asking questions and seeking further clarification. Interested students can request a certificate of participation in the webinar by emailing .
