Project launch day PNRR METROFOOD-IT

Next 4th October in Rome at the Botanical Garden, ENEA and Sapienza University of Rome will organize the launch event of the METROFOOD-IT Project - "Strengthening of the Italian RI for Metrology and Open Access Data in support to the Agrifood" funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan - NRRP.

The project, coordinated by ENEA, with the participation of University of Naples Federico II, University of Parma, University of Siena, University of Rome Sapienza, University of Bari, University of Molise and INRIM, will have a total duration of 30 months. METROFOOD-IT is part of the European Research Infrastructure METROFOOD-RI (www.metrofood.eu), included in the ESFRI Roadmap for the Health and Food domain.

The launch event will provide an opportunity to present the project to strengthen the national component of the research infrastructure, focused in particular on the electronic component and its integration with physical facilities, for the creation of an open data platform and the provision of services to support the digitalisation of the agri-food system, food quality and food safety, traceability of raw materials and products, food Transparency, circular economy and sustainability.

The services provided by the infrastructure are aimed at different categories of users with access to physical facilities (laboratories and facilities) and electronic resources (apps, software, models) and will allow METROFOOD-IT to act as an interface between research and innovation, industrial actors and consumers, defining and testing processes and scenarios for the development of sustainable and innovative agri-food systems.

The open communication and the close interaction with the various stakeholders of the agri-food system on objectives, activities, results and impacts, will promote a direct and motivated involvement, through the application of a multi-actor approach and the realization of Living Labs.

Participation is free and registration is required.
